A Nizhny Novgorod man beat his cousin to death and hid the body in the garage.

      April 29, 2026 20:00 Incidents A local resident in the Nizhny Novgorod region has been charged with the murder of his cousin. This was reported by the Investigative Committee for the region. In March, the mother of a 40-year-old son from the Ivanovo region filed a report about his disappearance. The man went missing in the Balakhna district. After verifying the information, a criminal case was opened for murder.

      Investigators were looking into who the missing person had been in contact with, what might have happened before his disappearance, and whether he had become a victim of a crime. As a result of operational work, the cousin of the man was detained. According to the investigation, in March on Chernjakovsky Street in the working settlement of Lukino, the accused brutally beat the relative with a metal rod. From the injuries sustained, he died on the spot. To conceal the crime, the man hid the body in his garage. The investigation has submitted a petition to the court for the accused to be taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing, expert examinations have been appointed, and witnesses are being questioned.
