      April 29, 2026 17:29 Society The Bogorodskaya highway will be expanded to four lanes on the section from Sartakovo to Novinki. The planning project for the regional road Ryazhsk-Kasimov-Murom-Nizhny Novgorod has been approved by the regional Ministry of Urban Development. The project provides for the expansion of a section measuring just over 4.3 km to four lanes. Construction is planned to be completed within two years. The main goal is to reduce the load on urban roads, increase capacity, and make traffic safer both on the regional highway and on local streets. It is expected that after reconstruction, the capacity will exceed 7,500 vehicles per hour, and traffic intensity will reach up to 39,400 vehicles per day. In addition to expanding the roadway, the project includes the installation of stormwater drainage, local treatment facilities, and street lighting. Noise barriers 5.5 meters high will be installed along the road. Due to the reconstruction, engineering communications will also be relocated and updated—sections of water supply, sewage, gas pipelines, power lines, and communication cables. This is necessary for their stable and uninterrupted operation after the road configuration changes. It was previously reported that in 2025, 41 km of roads were repaired in Nizhny Novgorod.
