"One mistake can cost a life": a traffic rules lesson for teenagers took place in Dzerzhinsk

      Employees of the Dzerzhinsk State Traffic Inspectorate held a meeting with students from middle and high schools in the city. The event took place as part of the social campaign "WITHOUT THE RIGHT to make a mistake." The main goal is to help teenagers develop a responsible and conscious attitude towards obeying traffic rules from the very first years of independent driving.

      What was discussed with the youth:

      — The inadmissibility of driving a vehicle without a driver's license. Inspectors provided examples of administrative and criminal liability, as well as tragic cases of traffic accidents involving underage drivers.

      — Compliance with traffic rules on electric scooters, bicycles, and the use of protective gear (helmet, knee pads, elbow pads). They discussed speed limits, the necessity to dismount at pedestrian crossings, and age restrictions for renting personal mobility devices.

      — Pit bikes are not toys for children. Employees emphasized that pit bikes are not intended for riding in courtyards and on public roads.

      — Responsibility for leaving the scene of an accident.

      — Rules for pedestrians: do not run onto the roadway from behind parked vehicles, use reflective elements at night, and put away phones and headphones when crossing the road.

      Senior Inspector for Traffic Safety Promotion of the Dzerzhinsk Traffic Inspectorate, Svetlana Gerasimova, noted: "Guys, you are already old enough to understand: the road does not forgive carelessness. Getting behind the wheel without a license, neglecting a helmet on a pit bike or bicycle, leaving the scene of an accident, you are betting not on skill, but on chance. One such bet can cost a life — yours or that of someone who happens to be nearby. Take care of yourselves and do not let a mistake become the last one."

      The Dzerzhinsk Traffic Inspectorate appeals to all parents: monitor your children's leisure activities, do not buy them motor vehicles without training and registration, and remind them daily about the necessity of protective gear and compliance with traffic rules.
