The application process for two grant competitions for the development of projects in agriculture has started in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
On April 27, 2026, at 15:43, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region began accepting applications for participation in two grant competitions for agricultural enterprises. Farmers will be able to create or expand their businesses with the help of government support.
The Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Nikolai Denisov, noted that systematic grant support is an integral part of the strategy for the development of the agricultural sector in the region.
"Grant support is equally important for both small farms and medium-sized agricultural organizations. Grants help create new jobs, increase production, implement modern technologies, and enhance the competitiveness of domestic agriculture. The first competition is aimed at supporting small farmers, while the second one, 'Agroprogress,' is focused on the development of larger projects," he said.
The grant amount for the development of a farm ranges from 3 to 30 million rubles, depending on the volume of own funds. Agricultural (farm) enterprises or individual entrepreneurs registered in rural areas or rural agglomerations, who own land, can apply. A citizen planning to establish a farm can also apply for a grant of up to 8 million rubles. The grant is provided once. The funds can be used for the purchase of agricultural land; the purchase, construction, or repair of production workshops or warehouses; connecting facilities to engineering networks; and purchasing equipment.
Recipients of the 'Agroprogress' grant can be agricultural producers included in the register of small and medium-sized businesses, excluding individual entrepreneurs, farm enterprises, and personal subsidiary plots. The grant amount is up to 30 million rubles, but no more than 25% of the project cost. The funds received can be used for the purchase, creation, and modernization of facilities intended for the production, storage, processing, and sale of agricultural products; for equipping facilities with machinery, transport, and equipment; and for purchasing breeding livestock and poultry.
Full selection conditions and requirements for application documentation can be found on the website of the regional Ministry of Agriculture and Food Resources: https://mcx-nnov.ru/about/info/news/2576/.
To participate in the selections, participants must submit application documentation in paper form to the agricultural management authority (municipal formations) at the location of their activities. The application acceptance is open until May 12 inclusive.
"Support for agricultural producers has always been and remains in the focus of regional authorities. The launch of two specialized grant competitions for the agro-industrial complex provides farmers and enterprises with a clear guideline for development, and the region with additional guarantees of food security. It is important that the support covers both levels: it helps both novice farmers take the first step and existing small and medium-sized enterprises modernize. We see that the region is consistently creating conditions for agriculture to remain an attractive sector for investment and personnel. Such measures are an integral part of the People's Program of 'United Russia,' which emphasizes real assistance to rural areas, job creation, and improving the quality of life in the countryside," noted Igor Tyurin, chairman of the committee of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region for the agro-industrial complex and rural development.
