      April 27, 2026 16:08 Society Ten projects became winners of special nominations in the regional competition for intellectual property objects of the Nizhny Novgorod region award named after I.P. Kulibin. Traditionally, the award ceremony for the laureates of the I.P. Kulibin award is held in two stages – medals in three main nominations are presented by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, at the final meeting of the regional ministry of industry, and after that, the winners of the special nominations are awarded separately. The awards were presented by the deputy minister of industry, trade, and entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Vladimir Balakin, and the acting rector of NGTU named after R.E. Alekseev, Sergey Dmitriev. "Our department has been awarding the regional prize named after Ivan Petrovich Kulibin since 2008. During this time, about 1500 applications have been submitted to the competition. The expert jury evaluates the level of technical and creative solutions, the prospects for the implementation of inventions, and the possibilities for import substitution," said the minister of industry, trade, and entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Maxim Cherkasov. This year, the winners were developments in seven nominations: - in the nomination "Safety," the patents "Method for conducting reverse aerobalistic testing" from FSUE "RFNC-VNIITF" and "Method for ultrasonic control of material damage during various types of mechanical destruction" from IPF RAS were recognized; - in the nomination "Technological Sovereignty," the patents from JSC "TsNIIMash" and IPF RAS were recognized; - in the nomination "Smart Technologies," the patent "Strip-pass waveguide filter in the terahertz range" from IPF RAS was recognized; - in the nomination "Technologies for Life and Health," the patent "Method for detecting genotypes 1 and 2 of Epstein-Barr virus" from the Federal State Budgetary Institution NNIIME named after Academician I.N. Blokhina of Rospotrebnadzor was recognized; - in the nomination "Leader in Innovation Implementation" - the patents "Threaded connection of pipe products of oilfield assortment" from JSC "VMZ" and "Installation for introducing anti-turbulence additives into the pipeline" from JSC "Transneft - Upper Volga" were recognized; - in the nomination "Technological Breakthrough" - the patent "Use of salts of 3-imino-3H-[1,2,4] diselenoazolo[4,3-a]pyridinium-4 as fungicidal agents" from NGTU named after R.E. Alekseev was recognized; - in the nomination "Brand of the Year" - the trademark PRIMEPULT from individual entrepreneur Yury Alexandrovich Berdnikov. "For our university, this is truly a significant event. This victory is a direct recognition of the work of our scientists and engineers, who are at the forefront of domestic science: from nuclear energy and electric power systems to unique transport technology.
