It is worth noting that the revival of the preseason tournament was planned for this year. According to him, to organize a tournament of such scale, it is necessary to have a nearly fully formed list of participants by March-April. Preparing for such competitions requires serious logistical planning and consideration of the teams' preseason training schedules, making it impossible to implement the project in a short timeframe. "I think that such a tournament would be very well received in Nizhny Novgorod in terms of the region's tourist appeal during the summer. Any preseason tournament in a hockey city is always a big boost, and fans who have missed hockey come to the matches with great pleasure," noted the general director. Zabuga considers it more feasible to implement this idea in the second season of the new arena's operation. First, it is necessary to fully understand how the sports facility functions. Moreover, operating a large hockey arena in the summer involves increased risks. At high temperatures, it is crucial to be completely confident in the reliability of the equipment. The first summer period will be more of a test for the new facility rather than a time of maximum loads. "This is a great idea, and I hope that the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region will support it for the 2027/2028 season, and we will be able to present such a tournament to our fans," Zabuga noted. At the same time, "Torpedo" has given preliminary consent to the Moscow Hockey Federation to participate in the traditional Moscow Mayor's Cup (0+).
