The ZSNO will consider the early termination of the powers of Alexander Paramonov.

      April 23, 2026 18:50 Politics The agenda of the committee meeting on state power of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region includes the issue of the early termination of the powers of the former director of the branches of RANEPA in Nizhny Novgorod and Dzerzhinsk, deputy Alexander Paramonov. This was reported by "Kommersant-Privolzhye." The planned committee meeting is scheduled for April 27.

      Recall that Alexander Paramonov was detained on March 12, 2025. According to law enforcement agencies, he received money for the illegal enrollment of applicants in the college, for awarding positive grades, and for issuing diplomas of higher and secondary vocational education without actual training. The total amount of bribes is claimed to have exceeded 1.5 million rubles.

      The case also includes an episode involving the employment of a university staff member in the position of specialist. According to the investigation, this person actually performed the duties of a personal driver for Paramonov's wife. The damage to the educational institution from these actions is estimated at more than 3.2 million rubles.

      At the end of March, the criminal case was sent to the Nizhny Novgorod District Court for substantive consideration. Paramonov admitted guilt in receiving bribes and abusing official powers. He entered into a pre-trial agreement with the prosecutor's office.

      It was previously reported that on February 5, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Dmitry Kolivanov submitted a statement on the early resignation of his powers. Four days later, the court sentenced him to 4.5 years in prison in a fraud case.
