Almost 900 km of roads need to be restored around M-12 in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On April 24, 2026, at 07:30, Society. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 744 km of roads remain to be restored out of nearly 1618 km involved in the construction of the federal highway M-12 "Vostok." This was reported by the head of the regional State Road Administration, Leonid Samukhin, at a meeting of the Legislative Assembly on transport and road management on April 23, where the results of the national project "Infrastructure for Life" were discussed.

      The official added that restoration work is ongoing. Over the next three years, 5.6 billion rubles have been approved from the federal budget. However, to fully bring the networks in order, 10 billion rubles are needed.

      Samukhin also informed those present that last year, a total of over 761 km of Nizhny Novgorod roads were repaired under the national project. By 2030, the number of roads in the largest urban agglomerations that meet regulatory requirements should reach 85%.

      It was previously reported that a huge sinkhole occurred on a road in the Vadsky district that had recently been repaired. It is known that this road was involved in the construction of M-12.
