496 illegal migrants have been expelled from the Nizhny Novgorod region.
In the first three months of 2026, bailiffs for the enforcement of established court order activities of the Federal Bailiff Service of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region expelled 496 migrants from the Russian Federation. Among them were citizens of Cuba, Congo, Ghana, India, Egypt, Vietnam, and Côte d'Ivoire. Most of the foreigners subjected to expulsion are natives of the Near Abroad: Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, and Turkmenistan.
The basis for expulsion was the court rulings issued under part 1 of Article 18.8 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Russian Federation "Violation by a foreign citizen or a stateless person of the rules of entry into the Russian Federation or the regime of stay (residence) in the Russian Federation." The citizens lacked documents confirming their right to temporarily reside and work in our country.
The illegal migrants awaited their expulsion at the temporary detention center for foreign citizens. After the necessary documents were processed, the bailiffs delivered them to the checkpoint at the state border of the Russian Federation and officially handed them over to the border service officers of the FSB of Russia.
