On April 21, 2026, at 17:24 Society In Nizhny Novgorod, the previously planned restriction on vehicle movement in Minin and Pozharsky Square and the adjacent streets on April 22 has been canceled. The decision is related to the rescheduling of the event, the city administration reported. It was previously announced that traffic in the city center would be restricted on April 22. The closure was supposed to affect Minin and Pozharsky Square itself — from Varvarskaya Street to the Upper Volga Embankment. Additionally, it was planned to close traffic on Ulyanova Street — from Minin Square to Piskunov Street, on Minin Street — to Museum Lane, as well as on Georgievsky Drive and the Upper Volga Embankment on the section from the square to Museum Lane. Now, the restrictions will not be implemented on April 22. A new date and time for the closures will be announced later. It was previously reported that large-scale closures in the city center are expected for Nizhny Novgorod residents due to rehearsals for the May 9 parade.
