The court ordered Russian Railways to eliminate dangerous violations on the tracks in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      April 21, 2026 17:10 Society The Nizhny Novgorod Transport Prosecutor's Office has achieved the elimination of violations on the railway related to the safety of citizens through the court. This was reported by the press service of the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office.

      The inspection revealed that the infrastructure owner does not fully fulfill its obligations to prevent injuries to people. This concerns the section of the track between kilometers 403-406 of the stretch between the Nizhny Novgorod and Gorokhovets stations.

      As established by law enforcement, there are no protective barriers on this segment, and some of the existing structures are damaged. In addition, unauthorized crossings over the railway tracks have been identified. At the same time, the railway company has not taken the necessary measures to eliminate these violations, which pose a threat to the life and health of citizens.

      In this regard, the transport prosecutor filed a lawsuit. The Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court supported the prosecutor's demands. JSC "Russian Railways" was ordered to bring the barriers into proper condition, install them where they are absent, and eliminate illegal crossings over the tracks.
