The best class teacher of 2026 was chosen in Nizhny Novgorod.

On April 21, 2026, at 15:24, Society: Teacher of School No. 75 in the Kanavinsky District, Yulia Golitsyna, became the winner of the city festival of professional skills "Class Teacher of the Year - 2026" in Nizhny Novgorod. The victory of the Nizhny Novgorod educator was announced by the head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev, who congratulated her on this high achievement.

Yulia Golitsyna works as a class teacher for 7 "B", teaches history and social studies, and also heads the school’s methodological association. Shalabaev noted that the educator actively involves parents in school life and has remained in the profession for 22 years. Under her guidance, students have repeatedly become winners and prize-winners of intellectual competitions, scientific conferences, and excursion projects.

"This is not surprising, as the teacher herself organizes educational excursions for students, fostering interest in the history of their hometown," emphasized the head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev.

This year, 269 class teachers participated in the competition. The mayor thanked the teachers for their work with children and their commitment to professional development.

The head of the city’s Department of Education, Irina Boryakova, pointed out that a modern school is not only about lessons but also about rich extracurricular activities, in which the class teacher plays a key role. She emphasized the importance of sharing best practices and noted that the competition has been held for many years.

"Today's finalists are very young, active, and creative class teachers. They demonstrate various methods and techniques for working with both children and parents," noted Boryakova.

More than 260 educators participated in the school and district stages of the festival. Nine winners of district competitions, representing different districts of the city and region, reached the finals.

The results were based on five challenges, including a pedagogical article, experience summary, "Panorama of Educational Ideas," a master class on career guidance activity "Russia - My Horizons," and a class podcast. In the finals, participants presented fragments of lessons and their methodological findings.

Winner Yulia Golitsyna shared that she dreamed of becoming a teacher since childhood and purposefully pursued this profession. She admitted that at the beginning of her career, she felt insecure and temporarily left to work as a kindergarten teacher, but after four years, she returned to school. Now the educator is graduating her third class.

In her work with children, the teacher emphasizes kindness and understanding. She noted that her students actively supported her during the competition and went through all stages of the challenges with her.

"Participating in such a competition is primarily an experience," emphasized Golitsyna, adding that she views this journey as an important stage in her professional growth and considers her victory an objective assessment of her work.
