More than 5.5 million rubles have been allocated for the repair of two escalators in the Nizhny Novgorod metro.

      April 20, 2026 19:20 EconomyMP "Nizhny Novgorod Metro" announced purchases for the repair of the stairwell roofs. This was reported on the state procurement website.

      The work is planned to be carried out at the exit No. 2 of the "Leninskaya" station and at the exit No. 5 of the "Chkalovskaya" station. The initial cost of the first contract is nearly 2.5 million rubles, and the second is over 3 million rubles. In total, more than 5.5 million rubles are allocated for these purposes. Applications for participation are accepted until April 27, and the auction results will be announced on April 30. In both cases, only small and medium-sized enterprises can participate in the auction.

      According to the technical specifications, the repair is necessary to eliminate leaks caused by the violation of the tightness of the joints of the stairwell roofs. The work is also aimed at ensuring the safety of passenger movement.

      Contractors must complete the repairs no later than 30 working days from the date of signing the contract. With the client's agreement, the work may be completed earlier than the established deadline.

      It was previously reported that new turnstiles are planned to be installed at the "Moscow" and "Zarechnaya" stations for 57.6 million rubles.
