Residues of an antihelminthic drug were found in popular cottage cheese from Belarus.

On April 20, 2026, at 20:00, the Rosselkhoznadzor discovered residual amounts of albendazole sulfone in the cottage cheese of Belarusian producers ZAO "Smolevichi Milk" and OAO "Savushkin Product." This was reported by 360.ru, citing data from the agency.

Rosselkhoznadzor specialists found that the products contained residues of a veterinary drug for helminths, which can be harmful to human health. Albendazole sulfone can cause allergic reactions, digestive problems, and have toxic effects on the liver with prolonged use.

In this regard, Rosselkhoznadzor has forwarded information about the violations to the veterinary service of Belarus and demanded measures to prevent similar situations in the future. Additionally, the agency has implemented enhanced laboratory control over the dairy products of these companies to ensure consumer safety.

As previously reported, obesity-inducing cottage cheese was found in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Furthermore, beef sausages containing antibiotics were identified in the region.
