How the "SVOe Delo" project helps Nizhny Novgorod veterans start a business
On April 21, 2026, at 12:49 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the project "SVOye delo" is being implemented, aimed at helping participants of the special military operation to start and develop their businesses. One of the program participants, 32-year-old Nizhny Novgorod resident Daniil Pechenikov, told pravda-nn.ru how the project helped him launch his business.
The man has a background in special forces, with deployments to hot spots, participation in the SVO, and a medal "For Courage." At 18, he joined the army and later continued his service under contract. He served in the Airborne Forces as a senior scout and later as an instructor, training young fighters. Over the years of service, he went through Syria, the Caucasus, and Ukraine.
In 2025, Daniil returned to civilian life and began to think about the future. At the same time, the "SVOye delo" project was launched in the region, initiated by the regional Ministry of Industry. The program includes training, meetings with experts and mentors, as well as excursions to enterprises.
Daniil applied, completed the training, and became one of the best participants in the first season. A total of more than 140 people from 38 districts of the region participated in the program.
The idea of starting his own business came to him while building a house.
"To do everything right, I took online lessons and gradually mastered the necessary construction skills. Then I started helping friends and relatives with repairs and realized that I was really good at it. That's when I decided to become an entrepreneur," he said.
The knowledge gained from the project helped him launch his business even during the training. He also received a certificate for promoting his business online. According to Daniil, participation in the program significantly impacted the development of his business: the number of orders is growing, and he plans to expand operations beyond the Nizhny Novgorod region.
In February, the second season of the project started in the region. Another 189 Nizhny Novgorod residents will undergo business training - a third more than the previous year.
"The project has become successful," noted the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Maxim Cherkasov. "The regional centers 'My Business,' located in the Nizhny Novgorod region, have become a single entry point into it. Their experts are constantly in touch with participants - they consult, help register businesses, and select government support measures."
At the end of the second season, 10 finalists are expected to be selected. They will also receive a set of services to develop their businesses.
Other support measures are also provided in the region. Assistance is available to both veterans and active participants of the SVO. For the latter, a military social contract is in effect.
Earlier, it was reported that the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, spoke about the "SVOye delo" project at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
