      The investigator of the Bogorodsk inter-district investigative department of the investigative committee of the Russian Federation for the Nizhny Novgorod region has initiated a criminal case regarding the death of four people in a fire, under the signs of a crime provided for by part 3 of article 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence to two or more persons). According to the investigation, on April 20, 2026, a fire occurred in a private residence located on Lenin Street in the settlement of Nizhny Novgorod in the Dalnekonstantinovsky municipal district of the Nizhny Novgorod region. After the fire was extinguished by the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the bodies of four people were found, the identities of whom are currently being established. Currently, investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia have begun examining the scene of the incident and the bodies of the deceased. To establish the causes of death of the victims, forensic medical examinations have been appointed. A fire-technical examination has been appointed to determine the causes of the fire.
