15-centimeter snowdrifts have piled up in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On April 20, 2026, at 21:52 Society 15-centimeter snowdrifts have accumulated in Nizhny Novgorod in less than a day. Taking this into account, 171% of the normal precipitation fell in April, the city administration reported.

      The bad weather will continue on Tuesday, April 21. Meteorologists forecast up to 14 mm* of precipitation in the form of snow and rain.

      The municipal press service clarified that road treatment with reagents will continue at night. So far, more than 480 tons of anti-icing materials have been used. More than 3,500 cubic meters of water have been pumped out.

      It was previously reported that the road services of the Nizhny Novgorod region have been put on an enhanced work schedule.

      * According to Gismeteo, depending on the structure, 1 mm of fallen snow in liquid equivalent can be equivalent to 1-1.5 cm of snow cover.
