More than 70 million rubles will be allocated for housing for Nizhny Novgorod residents with benefits.

      On April 17, 2026, at 19:53, the Society discussed the provision of housing support to privileged categories of residents of Nizhny Novgorod at a meeting of the city council's commission on urban development.

      The head of the city construction department, Tatyana Geraskina, informed those present that within the framework of the municipal program "Providing citizens of Nizhny Novgorod with affordable and comfortable housing" for 2026-2031, social payments from the city budget for housing acquisition are planned. Support will be provided to budget sector workers and families with three or more children born simultaneously.

      In addition, young families will receive assistance from the city, regional, and federal budgets, while individuals with disabilities of groups I-III and combat veterans will receive support from the federal budget. More than 70 million rubles are planned to be allocated for the implementation of these measures.

      Geraskina also informed the deputies about the plans for the capital repair of municipal social institutions within the framework of the federal project "All the Best for Children" of the national project "Youth and Children." For these purposes, more than 539 million rubles are allocated in the city budget for 2026.

      Municipal contracts have already been signed for comprehensive capital repairs of several educational institutions. By the end of 2026, work is planned to be completed at school No. 48 in the Prioksky district, school No. 123 in the Leninsky district, and Bolshomokrin secondary school in the Kstovo district. By 2027, work is planned to be completed at school No. 76 in the Sormovsky district and secondary school No. 1 in the Kstovo district. Additionally, a contract has been signed for the roof repair of Lyceum No. 28 named after Academician B.A. Korolev in the Soviet district.
