      Since the beginning of 2026, 429 people have gone missing in the Nizhny Novgorod region. Of these, 213 are children and adolescents. This was reported by the Search and Rescue Center "LYNX."

      Of the 429 missing, 392 people were found alive. Unfortunately, 12 residents of the region were found deceased.

      It is worth noting that in March, the PSC "LYNX" received requests to search for 145 people, of which 69 were children and adolescents under 18 years old. Volunteers found 127 Nizhny Novgorod residents alive, while four missing persons were found dead. Earlier, it was reported that a state of emergency was declared in Balakhna due to the threat of the collapse of an apartment building on Engels Street, 54.

      In the building constructed in 1954, 35 people lived. According to the district administration, the house was not previously recognized as emergency.
