      On April 17, 2026, at 20:41, Incidents: A house with a huge crack in Balakhna will be recognized as emergency and residents will be relocated, said Edward Kiselnikov, head of the housing and engineering infrastructure department of the Balakhna district, in an interview with TV "Rabochaya Balakhna."

      The issue concerns the three-story apartment building No. 54 on Engels Street. Today, April 17, a large fissure has formed in the wall of the building, which is rapidly increasing.

      Residents were urgently evacuated. 20 people were accommodated in a temporary shelter, provided with beds and food.

      "We will conduct an expert assessment. We will recognize the house as emergency and provide people with new housing," Kiselnikov said.

      As previously reported by the administration of the Balakhna district, an emergency situation has been declared due to the threat of collapse.

      A criminal case has been opened by the Investigative Committee under the article "Negligence." The progress of the investigation is under the control of the prosecutor's office.
