The former head of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of RANEPA has reached a plea deal with the investigation.
April 16, 2026 16:47 Incidents Former director of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of RANEPA, regional parliament deputy Alexander Paramonov has admitted guilt in bribery and abuse of power. He has entered into a pre-trial agreement with the prosecutor's office, reports "Ъ-Privolzhye". According to law enforcement, Paramonov received monetary rewards for the illegal enrollment of applicants in the college, for awarding positive grades, as well as for issuing diplomas of higher and secondary vocational education without actual training. The total amount of bribes is claimed to have exceeded 1.5 million rubles. A separate episode is related to the employment of a person in the university as a specialist, who actually performed the functions of a personal driver for Paramonov's wife. As a result of these actions, the damage to the educational institution amounted to more than 3.2 million rubles. The branch of the university intends to file a lawsuit against the former head to recover damages in the amount of over 3 million rubles. It was previously reported that former rector of NGLU Zhanna Nikonova will be tried for embezzling millions.
