Nizhny Novgorod region will join the all-Russian Saturday cleanup on April 25.
On April 16, 2026, at 15:09 Society On April 25, 2026, a large-scale All-Russian subbotnik will take place across the country with the support of the Ministry of Construction of Russia (0+). The areas created under the national project "Infrastructure for Life" will be put in order, as well as spaces previously improved as part of the federal project "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment." It is planned that all 88 regions of the Russian Federation will participate in the event, including the Nizhny Novgorod region. "One of the key priorities of the federal project 'Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment' is the involvement of citizens in decision-making regarding landscaping. Participation in the All-Russian subbotnik is a great opportunity to show care for the environment and personally contribute to the transformation of public spaces. This initiative not only helps us to tidy up the streets, yards, parks, and squares together, but also gives every resident a chance to engage in socially useful work, to be part of large-scale development programs and positive changes in their neighborhoods, settlements, and cities. Organizing a subbotnik during the All-Russian online voting for landscaping objects, which will last until June 12, has become a good tradition. Every year, more and more residents participate, choosing how their city will look," noted Alexey Yeresko, Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of the Russian Federation. Participants of the subbotnik will engage in cleaning yards and public areas, planting flowers and trees, tidying up sculptures and small architectural forms, painting benches, bases, and fences, and ensuring cleanliness in entrances. Additionally, master classes, sports competitions, lectures, and workshops are planned. Volunteers from the Dobro RF platform will also participate in the all-Russian action. They will inform Nizhny Novgorod residents about the upcoming online voting for objects for future landscaping on the platform: zagorodsreda.gosuslugi.ru. Any citizen over 14 years old can influence positive changes in their city. "In forming the people's program of 'United Russia,' we receive thousands of requests from residents: people ask to build children's and sports grounds, to improve squares and yards. But it is not enough to create – it is important to maintain order. The All-Russian subbotnik unites residents to prepare the region for the warm season. Together, we preserve the beauty and cleanliness of the created spaces. And the desire of people to engage in this work every year is the best indicator that the project is in demand, and the improved areas have truly become a place of attraction for them," noted Evgeny Kostin, First Deputy Chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod City Duma. Last year, approximately 1.5 million people participated in the subbotnik across Russia, with work carried out in over 2,000 municipal formations. It should be noted that since 2025, the implementation of a new national project "Infrastructure for Life" has begun in Russia. Its goal is to provide citizens with socially significant infrastructure of a new quality. The project consists of 11 federal projects that include areas previously provided for in the national projects "Housing and Urban Environment," "Safe Quality Roads," and state programs of the Russian Federation: "Formation of a Comfortable Urban Environment," "Modernization of Communal Infrastructure," "Housing," "Development of Infrastructure in Settlements," "New Construction Rhythm," "Central Transport Hub," "Road Traffic Safety," "Regional Roads," "Federal Highways," "Development of the Road Economy," "Public Transport." During the implementation of the national project, more than 80,600 spaces have been updated in the regions of Russia, and 1,154 winning projects of the competition have been implemented. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, 753 public spaces and more than 3,000 yards have been improved since 2019. The NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
