A disabled person who lost their job won a million from a Nizhny Novgorod IT company.
On April 16, 2026, at 16:28, Incidents The Nizhny Novgorod District Court considered a lawsuit regarding the unlawful dismissal of a disabled person, as reported by the press service of the regional court. The plaintiff was employed as a programmer at the IT company LLC "Zitek." A permanent employment contract was signed with him. The man worked remotely. The employer was aware that the man had a third-group disability. For two years, there were no complaints about his work: he performed his duties diligently and received no disciplinary actions. But then the employer suddenly began to demand written explanations for task completion, sent the employee on business trips without his consent, and restricted access to work programs. All of this hindered the normal performance of his duties. Fearing dismissal on discrediting grounds, the employee wrote a resignation letter "of his own accord." In the document, he stated that the reason was the unbearable working conditions created by the employer. Considering the dispute, the court concluded that the employee had no intention of terminating the employment relationship, and that work was his main source of income. The court viewed the employer's actions as coercive, effectively forcing the plaintiff to write the resignation letter. The court partially satisfied the claim. The dismissal was deemed unlawful, and the programmer was reinstated in his position in the technical department. The company was ordered to pay the average salary for the time of forced absenteeism — 1,277,649 rubles, compensation for moral damage — 80,000 rubles, as well as expenses for representation. The decision regarding reinstatement at work is subject to immediate enforcement. It has not yet entered into legal force. According to open data, the general director of LLC "Zitek" is the former Minister of Information Technology of Nizhny Novgorod, Sergey Kuchin. It was previously reported that a resident of Kstovo was fined for a hate-inciting comment in a messenger. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has a Telegram channel.
