The directors of the ANO "Institute of Demographic Development" have been released from the pre-trial detention center.

      On April 15, 2026, at 15:16, the director of the regional non-profit organization "Institute of Demographic Development," Evgeny Zhuravlev, was released from the pre-trial detention center. As reported by the press service of the regional Investigative Committee to NIA "Nizhny Novgorod," he is currently under a travel ban. Recall that Zhuravlev was detained in Nizhny Novgorod at the end of February on charges of large-scale fraud. According to the investigation, in 2025, he instructed an employee to enter knowingly false information about hours worked into the timekeeping records. Law enforcement believes that the director did not actually perform his official duties to the stated extent, yet received his full salary. The damage caused to the relevant ministry is preliminarily estimated at a minimum of 350,000 rubles.
