      Heart and vascular problems, acute respiratory infections, and cavities were the most frequent complaints among residents of the Nizhny Novgorod region visiting doctors in 2025. The statistics on medical assistance requests were provided by the editor-in-chief of "Statsionar-Press," Alexey Nikonov, citing data from the company "SOGAZ-Med."

      According to the obtained data, last year there was a particularly significant increase in the incidence of acute nasopharyngitis (runny nose): an increase of almost 11 percent, which in absolute terms amounted to about 81 thousand cases. The number of patients with type 2 diabetes and hypertensive heart disease also increased by eight and seven percent, respectively.

      In terms of the total number of visits, hypertensive heart disease "leads" by a large margin with 405 thousand recorded episodes. Acute upper respiratory infections (327 thousand cases) are in second place, followed by cavities (160 thousand cases). Additionally, cerebrovascular pathologies and dorsalgia (in simpler terms - back pain) made it into the top five most common diagnoses.
