      On April 16, 2026, at 09:40, Nizhny Novgorod's "Chaika" defeated the "Omsk Hawks" in the second match of the 1/4 finals of the Kharlamov Cup with a score of 3:2. The winner was determined in a shootout.

      The first period ended without goals, but in the second period, the Omsk team opened the scoring. Soon, "Chaika" equalized, with Sergey Skvortsov scoring.

      In the 51st minute, Stepan Gornov put the Nizhny Novgorod team ahead. However, the "Omsk Hawks" restored parity.

      According to the MHL playoff regulations, "infinite" overtimes are only held if the match can be decisive in the series. Therefore, the teams were limited to an additional 10-minute period, in which no winner was determined.

      The fate of the match was decided in the shootout. The only successful attempt was made by Yan Melnikov. Goalie Marat Sabitov saved all three shots from the opponent and brought victory to the team.

      The score in the confrontation is now tied at 1:1. The third match (0+) will take place on April 18.

      It was previously reported that "Torpedo" defeated "Metallurg" in overtime, extending the series for at least one more game.
