The Knowledge Marathon, dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, will take place in Nizhny Novgorod.
On April 16, 2026, at 12:42, a federal educational marathon Knowledge.First (12+) will take place in Nizhny Novgorod on April 29, ahead of the Day of Indigenous Peoples of Russia. The event is dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared by President Vladimir Putin, and is implemented as part of the national project "Youth and Children."
Famous public figures, military correspondents, defenders of the Fatherland, scientists, and athletes will meet with schoolchildren and students. The focus of the marathon participants is the unity of peoples as the key to the future of the country.
In Russia, the Knowledge.First marathon will take place from April 28 to 30, covering all federal districts of the country and uniting more than 18,000 participants. On April 28, the program will take place in Moscow, Tver, Barnaul, Yakutsk, Makhachkala, Novy Urengoy, Naryan-Mar, and the Donetsk People's Republic. On April 29, Nizhny Novgorod will join the marathon, and on April 30, Astrakhan. Additionally, on the second and third days, the program will continue at the main venue — the Central Exhibition Hall "Manezh" in Moscow. The marathon will explore the theme of unity of peoples from various perspectives as a foundation for Russia's achievements in diverse fields — from science to sports.
The Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Region, Gleb Nikitin, emphasized the importance of the educational marathon organized by the Knowledge Society.
"On Nizhny Novgorod soil, the traditions of multinational and interfaith cooperation have been formed over centuries. Today, Nizhny Novgorod Region remains one of the most multinational regions in Russia, an example of good neighborliness and respectful dialogue among various cultures and religions. The marathon, dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, will help young people learn what lies at the heart of mutual understanding and the traditions laid down by our ancestors. I am confident that the rich and diverse program of the marathon will inspire the youth to achieve new goals. After all, when we unite our efforts, everything becomes possible," said Gleb Nikitin.
Participants in Nizhny Novgorod will attend lectures and open dialogues featuring well-known personalities. The first speakers of the marathon will include military correspondent of Channel One Amir Yusupov, three-time Olympic champion, TV presenter, head of the Water Theater and the Center for Synchronized Swimming, deputy of the Moscow City Duma Maria Kiseleva, head of the DPO group of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation Yan Khutoryansky, chef, musician, and host of the program "Let's Go, Let's Eat!" Federico Arnaldi, aerospace engineer, science popularizer, ambassador of the Knowledge Society Denis Prudnik, and other outstanding individuals.
