It began: four grass fires occurred in a day in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      April 16, 2026 12:38 Incidents The first grass fires have been recorded in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, four such incidents occurred within a day: in the Spassky, Diveyevsky, Lukoyanovsky municipal districts and the Kstovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod.

      The total area of the fire exceeded 40,000 square meters. As a result, there are no injuries or fatalities. Property has also not been damaged.

      The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that in dry and windy weather, fire spreads extremely rapidly, creating a threat to residential houses and outbuildings. People are urged not to set fire to grass, not to leave trash, and to discard unextinguished cigarette butts. Special caution should be exercised in summer cottages and forests.
