The recruitment of participants for the new program "Project Marathon" has started in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On April 14, 2026, at 18:38 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the recruitment of participants for the educational program "Project Marathon" has started, aimed at implementing a culture of lean management in executive bodies and their subordinate organizations, as well as in local government bodies in the social sphere. The program is being implemented as part of a partnership project between the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the state corporation "Rosatom," aimed at the systematic development of human resources and improving the quality of state and municipal services in the social sphere through the introduction of a culture of lean production. "The program is designed to help solve the main task of the 'Labor Productivity' project in the social sphere — to make work on the ground more efficient by systematizing all processes. We focus not on theory, but on real solutions. People will work on their own improvement projects that they can immediately implement in their organizations and see tangible benefits. Equally valuable is that participants will be able to exchange experiences with each other. Thus, the best findings will not remain within one organization but will spread across different teams and municipalities," noted the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Yegor Polyakov. The educational program includes practical training in lean production tools with the opportunity for participants to implement projects in their workplaces. Participation will allow young employees to apply the knowledge gained in practice and contribute to increasing labor productivity in the social sphere of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The program consists of four educational modules: "Project Opening," "Diagnosis and Target State," "Implementation of Improvements," "Project Defense." "Project Marathon" is a practice of concrete actions! The educational program is aimed at developing the Nizhny Novgorod region as the "lean capital" of Russia through specific actions, relying on unique production experience and joint projects with the regional leadership. On one hand, the idea of the program fully corresponds to the tasks we are solving together with the Nizhny Novgorod community — so that the projects implemented in the region benefit its residents and resonate throughout the country. On the other hand, it is an informal way to continue, support, and infuse new meaning into the idea of a lean region. In the case of successful implementation, this model can be replicated and become a scalable tool for increasing the efficiency of public service and the quality of services for the population throughout Russia," emphasized Sergey Obozov, Deputy General Director of the State Corporation "Rosatom." Training will take place online over 16 weeks. At the end, there will be a final defense of the participants' projects before an expert commission. Employees of executive authorities and their subordinate organizations, as well as specialists from local government bodies in the social sphere of the Nizhny Novgorod region, are invited to participate (age limit - up to 35 years).
