      The head of the migration department of the district police department in the Nizhny Novgorod region will stand trial on charges of organizing illegal migration and receiving a bribe. This was reported by the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. The man is accused under paragraph "b" of part 2 of article 322.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (organization of illegal migration) and part 3 of article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (receiving a bribe). According to the investigation, in September 2025, the head of the department did not take measures to hold accountable the receiving party and the foreigner illegally staying in the country. For this, he received a bribe of 15,000 rubles. The court has chosen a measure of restraint in the form of detention. A criminal case has been initiated based on materials from the FSB of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. The criminal case has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.
