Nizhny Novgorod specialists found a dangerous antibiotic in beef sausages.

      Specialists from the Nizhny Novgorod testing laboratory of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "VNIIZh" examined samples of beef sausages and found a dangerous antibiotic in them. This was reported by the agency's press service.

      The product contained a medicinal substance – dinitrocarbanilide, which is used to treat animals for bacterial infections. The antibiotic poses a potential danger to human health: consumption of the drug can cause allergic reactions and even more severe consequences. Prolonged use of the antibiotic increases the burden on the liver and kidneys.

      Thus, the sausages do not meet the requirements of the Technical Regulation of the Customs Union 021/2011 "On the Safety of Food Products." The research results were entered into the automated system "Vesta" and forwarded to the Rosselkhoznadzor.
