A house for resettlers from emergency housing has been built in Chkalovsk.

      April 14, 2026 1:00 PM Society In Chkalovsk, 74 residents of emergency housing received keys to new apartments. The resettlement is part of a regional program aimed at homes recognized as emergency from January 1, 2017, to January 1, 2022. The initiative is being implemented as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life."

      The new four-story building is located on Krasnoflotskaya Street. It includes 40 apartments, of which 32 are designated for resettling citizens from emergency housing.

      The head of the local self-government of the municipal district of Chkalovsk, Lyubov Vladimirova, congratulated the new residents, noting that a modern building with a landscaped area has been constructed for them instead of emergency housing.

      "Special attention was paid to creating a comfortable environment: a children's playground and parking have been arranged," she emphasized, wishing the residents happiness in their new place.

      Thanks to the construction of the building, emergency premises with a total area of more than 1,200 square meters have been vacated.

      The Minister of Construction of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Grunichev, noted that the implementation of the regional targeted program continues. According to him, the key task is to provide residents with not only safe but also modern housing that meets all requirements. Work is being carried out systematically in collaboration with the municipalities participating in the program.

      Since 2025, a national project "Infrastructure for Life" has been launched in Russia at the initiative of President Vladimir Putin, which is a continuation of the project "Housing and Urban Environment."

      It was previously reported that in Nizhny Novgorod, about 20 emergency houses are planned to be demolished this year.
