More than 20,000 residents of Nizhny Novgorod will participate in a cleanup day on April 18.

      On April 14, 2026, at 11:31 AM, Society: A citywide cleanup will take place in Nizhny Novgorod on April 18. This was announced by the city's head, Yuri Shalabaev, on social media. The cleanup will cover all districts of the city, including Kstovo.

      According to the mayor, the established warm weather and absence of snow allow for a large-scale order restoration. The cleanup will take place in 47 public spaces of "Greater Nizhny," in seven parks and recreation areas, as well as on the territories of enterprises, educational institutions, healthcare, culture, and sports, and in courtyards.

      It is expected that more than 20,000 people will participate in the event. Mayor Yuri Shalabaev noted that he also plans to join the cleanup. "Everyone who wishes can contact their districts, housing management offices, or enterprise leaders for equipment. We are waiting for everyone who loves their city and wants to make it better!" emphasized the city head.

During this time, according to Yuri Shalabaev, nearly 15,500 people have already joined the work. More than 9,000 cubic meters of garbage have been removed, nine dumps have been eliminated, and about 9.2 million square meters of lawns have been cleaned.
