Published are the plans for road closures in Nizhny Novgorod due to May 9th.

      April 14, 2026 18:50 Society Nizhny Novgorod begins preparations for the Victory Day celebration. In particular, rehearsals for the military parade will soon start. As a result, some streets will be periodically closed.

      Thus, from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on April 16, 17, 21, 22, 23, and 24, as well as from 00:01 AM to 2:00 PM on May 1, 3, 5, and 7, traffic will be closed along the embankment of the rowing canal — on the section from the Kazan exit to house No. 112A on Sloboda Pechery Street.

      During this period, bus No. 5 will run from Delovaya Street to the "Derevnya Pechery" stop in both directions.

      Additionally, from 00:01 AM to 2:00 PM on May 1, 3, 5, and 7, restrictions will be introduced in the city center. Traffic will be closed at Minin and Pozharsky Square, as well as on Varvarskaya, Minina, and Alexeyevskaya Streets (from Minin and Pozharsky Square to Piskunova Street). Restrictions will also affect Zelensky Exit, Shirokaya Street, and the Lower Volga Embankment on the section from Shirokaya Street to the Kazan exit.

      As a result, public transport routes will change. In particular:

      - Buses No. 1, 4, 68, and electric buses E-9, E-13, E-17 will run from Varvarskaya Street through Piskunova, Ulyanova, Nesterova, and Bolshaya Pecherskaya Streets to the "River School" stop; back — via Piskunova and Varvarskaya Streets;

      - Routes No. 3, 61, 70, 91 will head towards Freedom Square via Pokhvalinsky Exit, Maslyakova, Gorky, Osharskaya, and Academician Blokhina Streets; towards Kanavinsky Bridge — via Varvarskaya, Oktyabrskaya, Osharskaya, Gorky, Ilyinskaya, and Malaya Pokrovskaya;

      - Buses No. 13, 19, 24, 45, 74, 90, and 242 towards Sennaya Square will run via Pokhvalinsky Exit, Maslyakova, Gorky Square, Gorky, Osharskaya, Academician Blokhina, Varvarskaya, Piskunova, and Minina Streets; back — on a similar route through the center;

      - Route No. 31 will be shortened to the "Chyorny Prud" stop;

      - Routes No. 40, 64, 92, 97, and 130 will run along Piskunova Street in both directions;

      - Routes No. 71, 87, and 95 will be temporarily shortened to the "Rozhdestvenskaya Street" stop.

      At the same time, on the changed routes, boarding and alighting of passengers will be maintained at the existing stops along the way.

      The city hall asks drivers to remove their vehicles from the restricted zones in advance. Any vehicles left behind will be forcibly moved. Information about relocated vehicles can be clarified by calling 417-17-07.
