The project for the preservation of the Bashkirovs' mill in Nizhny Novgorod has passed the examination.

      April 11, 2026 18:00 Culture and Leisure The project for the preservation of the mill building of the trading house "Emelyan Bashkirov and Sons" in Nizhny Novgorod has received a positive conclusion from the state expertise. This was reported in the Unified State Register of Real Estate.

      The object in question is a cultural heritage site of regional significance, located at: Garshina Street, 40, building D. The mill building was constructed in 1914 and was later reconstructed in the 1920s.

      The examination of the project documentation was conducted by the regional office of the state expertise of project documentation and engineering surveys. The developer is LLC "SZ "Glorax Center," and the technical customer is LLC "Radius." The project documentation was prepared by LLC "AS-Studio" from Vladimir.

      It should be noted that the complex of the Bashkirov flour mill began to take shape in the 1870s. In addition to the mill building, it includes the pasta factory building, a dormitory for workers, and warehouses for storing goods.

      To restore the Bashkirov mill and the nearby Degtyarev mill, the developer attracted a preferential loan of 645.6 million rubles.

      In 2025, positive conclusions of the expertise were already received for the restoration and adaptation projects of the dormitory and warehouses for modern use. Hotels will be arranged in them. All works will be carried out by LLC "SZ "Glorax Center." In July, the regional Ministry of Construction issued a permit for the reconstruction of the facilities.

      In addition, in January of this year, the Ministry of Urban Development of the Nizhny Novgorod Region approved the hotel project on Garshina Street. It is intended to connect the buildings of the former Bashkirov mill.

      It should be noted that a large-scale renovation project for the Chernigov Embankment started in 2023. The construction of residential buildings, public spaces, commercial and social facilities with a total area of 138.3 thousand square meters is planned here.
