April 8, 2026 17:11 Incidents The Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, will be informed about a mass poisoning in the Nizhny Novgorod region, the press service of the law enforcement agency reported. Cases of intestinal infection have been recorded in the Uren district. More than 50 people have sought medical assistance, and six have been hospitalized. Schools and kindergartens have switched to remote learning. The Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case regarding the provision of services that do not meet safety requirements for the life and health of consumers. It is necessary to determine the causes of the incident and establish who is to blame. The prosecutor's office and Rospotrebnadzor are also interested in the outbreak of intestinal infection. The head of the Investigative Committee, Bastrykin, instructed the head of the regional investigative department, Ayrat Akhmetshin, to report on the progress of the criminal investigation and the established circumstances.
