A lesson of courage for Nizhny Novgorod schoolchildren was conducted by the veteran of the SVO, Ravil Ravilov.
On April 8, 2026, at 16:47, Society In school No. 129 in Nizhny Novgorod, a meeting took place between students and a veteran of the special military operation, participant of the program "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" Ravil Ravilov. The lesson of courage was organized by the Nizhny Novgorod regional branch of the All-Russian public movement "Volunteers of Victory" as part of the regional project "Heroes of the Motherland."
The "Heroes of the Motherland" project aims at the patriotic education of youth through the stories of heroes-defenders of the Great Patriotic War, as well as the special military operation and other armed conflicts. It is implemented with the support of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region and the program "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region."
"For me, such meetings with children are an opportunity to explain what it means to defend the Motherland. It is important for the kids to see not just a picture from the news, but a living person who was on the front lines. My duty is to be an example, to show that love for the Fatherland is proven by deeds. This is how I teach my children and am ready to help teach this to others," shared program participant "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region," father of three children Ravil Ravilov.
Students were able to personally communicate with the veteran of the special military operation, ask him questions, and hear stories about true courage, love for the Motherland, and fidelity to military duty. During an open conversation, the veteran shared memories with the kids, talked about the difficulties faced by servicemen, about combat camaraderie, and the importance of support from the homeland.
Ravil Ravilov was awarded a high departmental award in 2024 for impeccable service, personal courage, and high professionalism demonstrated in the performance of military duty – the medal "For Distinction in Service" of the I degree, as well as the badge "For Distinction in Service." He is currently undergoing training as part of the regional program "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region," aimed at integrating fighters into the system of state governance.
Since the beginning of the academic year, as part of the regional project "Heroes of the Motherland," Nizhny Novgorod Volunteers of Victory have already held 250 meetings with participants of the special military operation in Nizhny Novgorod and other cities in the region. About 10,000 schoolchildren and students have participated in them.
