Rescuers pulled a dog out of the basement of an abandoned house in Kstovo.

      On April 8, 2026, at 16:46, Incidents: A dog was rescued from a basement in Kstovo, reported the regional emergency management office. A touching story with a happy ending took place in the "Yubileynoye" gardening association. Gardeners called the rescue service asking to free an animal from the basement of a partially collapsed house. The dog could not get out on its own. A duty crew from the 54th fire and rescue unit and workers from the emergency rescue team in Kstovo were dispatched to the scene. The frightened dog was extracted with the help of professional equipment. After examination, it became clear that the unfortunate creature had no serious injuries. Once freed, the dog immediately ran away. Earlier, it was reported that regional government employees rescued an owl in the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin. The bird had a broken wing.
