Flood records have been broken in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The water level in the Tesh River reached 119 cm, reported the mayor of the urban district, Alexander Shchelokov. According to the official, critical consequences have so far been avoided. Water has already approached residential houses in several settlements, including Chernukha, Poshatovo, Nikolskoye, Bebyayevo, Kovaksy, Zarechnoye, Kirillovka, Kichanzino, Vyyezdnoye, Kozhino, Sosnovoye, Lesnoye, as well as the Boat Station area. In Arzamas itself, flooding has affected low-lying areas — signals have been received from the streets of Oktyabrskaya, Simbirskaya, Lermontova, and Pushkina. Shchelokov explained that the situation is influenced by several factors — the rise of water in the Tesh, Shamka, Seryozha, Chernushka, and Aksha rivers, as well as significant snow reserves in the forests and fields. The official noted that the preparations made for the flood period have already yielded results, and the district is currently experiencing the second wave of flooding without critical disruptions. The further development of the situation will largely depend on weather conditions, particularly precipitation, which could complicate the situation. "The two main tasks are to ensure the mobility of residents, which mainly concerns settlements, and the preservation of housing. Gardens are definitely not a priority," concluded the mayor. Earlier, it was reported that the flooding led to disruptions in water supply in Bogorodsk.
