      The memorial "To the Fighters of the Front and Workers of the Rear 1941-1945" with the T-34 tank has been put in order after winter in the Sormovsky district of Nizhny Novgorod. The work is part of the preparations for the month of landscaping announced by Mayor Yuri Shalabaev from April 5 to May 15. This was reported by the district administration. On the territory of the memorial on Korablebuilders Avenue, the work crew conducted a comprehensive cleanup: cleared the area of debris, washed the surfaces and fences, and also tidied up the T-34 tank. As contractor organization employee Anton Voroshilov explained, special care and thoroughness are necessary when cleaning memorial sites. "The memorial with the tank is an important place for all Sormovites: district patriotic events, meetings of public organizations and neighborhood centers, as well as school celebrations take place here. Therefore, we try to tidy up such places as quickly as possible and do it as carefully as possible," he said. According to the first deputy head of the Sormovsky district administration, Alexey Zaitsev, road and utility services are working daily on the streets and in the yards. "Work crews are cleaning sidewalks and curb strips, removing leftover snow, washing stops and fences, and collecting garbage. We are increasing the pace – we are working around the clock," he said, noting that entrepreneurs have also joined the cleanup and are tidying up the areas around their organizations. According to Sormovites, the results of the city services' work are already noticeable. "Spring is always the time for cleaning. I often walk in my favorite area: I see how day by day it changes, becoming cleaner and cozier. The results are really visible: it's easy to breathe!" said resident Marina Cheblukova. Earlier, the city head Yuri Shalabaev reported that he held a large meeting with district heads and road workers. "We discussed the urgent issue - putting the city in order after the snowiest winter in the history of meteorological observations. Equipment is being re-equipped 'for summer', workers are cleaning roads, curb strips, removing garbage that has surfaced from under the snow, and starting to wash fences and stops. Soon we will begin washing the roadway, including with shampoo. And we will hold the traditional month of landscaping for our city from April 5 to May 15. We are still determining the date for the citywide Saturday cleanup. We expect more than 20,000 Nizhny Novgorod residents to participate," the mayor said.
