"Rostelecom" has built a high-speed communication channel to the special economic zone.

      On April 3, 2026, 12:13 Society "Rostelecom" completed the creation of a modern telecommunications infrastructure for the special economic zone "Kulibin" in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod region. The operator built a communication channel with a capacity of up to 10 Gbit/s. The project, implemented at the request of the Regional Development Corporation, addresses the key need of the site for stable and high-speed data transmission.

      Design work was carried out from November 2025 to March 2026. The provider's specialists built cable ducts and laid 15 kilometers of fiber-optic communication lines (FOCL). The main route passes through the industrial zone, forest belts, including marshy areas, which required more thorough engineering surveys.

      "The Rostelecom project is an important step in forming the digital ecosystem of 'Kulibin'. It is such solutions that determine where new productions will be launched and technologies will develop. We have laid the foundation for further expansion of the optical infrastructure throughout the special economic zone. The created network is scalable: as the number of residents and their tasks grow, we are ready to increase the capacity of communication channels."

We see how quickly business demands for speed and reliability of data transmission are growing, so it is fundamentally important for us to create a digital infrastructure that will anticipate business needs. The created network opens up new opportunities for residents: data exchange is accelerated, access to modern digital services is provided, and the efficiency of production management is increased."

      "Rostelecom" has already begun connecting residents to the optical network. Among them is the company "Axis" — a manufacturer of carbide tools and technological equipment.

      "For a project of this scale, such as the creation of a carbide tool production center, digital infrastructure is not an auxiliary but a fundamental element. Connecting to a high-speed communication channel has allowed us to synchronize all processes: interaction with suppliers, contractors, and technological partners, as well as ensure stable operation of digital services on the site. IT solutions directly affect the timing of project implementation, the accuracy of management decisions, and the quality of production launch. In fact, the created telecommunications infrastructure has become one of the key factors ensuring the transition of the complex to operational mode and its further sustainable operation."

      Currently, there are 56 companies as residents of the special economic zone, with investments exceeding 160 billion rubles. They will create more than 7,200 jobs.
