Nizhny Novgorod residents will be able to undergo medical screenings for free on April 5.
April 1, 2026 15:17 Society On April 5, events (0+) will take place in the Nizhny Novgorod region, dedicated to World Health Day, which is celebrated annually on April 7. The main venues will be set up in the "Switzerland" park. The events are part of the preventive program "Your Health Day." Residents of the region will be offered medical examinations and consultations with specialists, and an interactive program will be prepared for children. From 10:00 to 14:00 at the Healthy Lifestyle Center "Planet of Health" (glass pavilion of the park), a series of screenings can be done without prior registration. In particular, visitors will be offered to measure anthropometric indicators and blood pressure, calculate body mass index, check cholesterol and glucose levels in the blood, take a general blood test, and an HIV test. Eye fundus examinations and external respiratory function tests, oral cavity oncological screening, ECG, and dermatoscopy will also be available. Additionally, various specialists will be present at the venue — a therapist, neurologist, cardiologist, endocrinologist, and dermatologist-venereologist. Mobile medical complexes will also be set up in the parking lot of dormitory No. 2 of PIMU (Gagarin Avenue, 68) at the same time. There, fluorography, mammography, electrocardiographic examination, and consultations with a cardiologist in the "Cardiomobile" complex will be available. Registration for examinations will begin at 9:30. For children, a quiz dedicated to a healthy lifestyle will be held at the Talent Development Center "Vega" at 11:30. Participants can expect an educational program featuring a life-sized mascot of the cat "ZOHik." Pre-registration is not required. As the organizers note, the campaign aims to foster a sustainable commitment to a healthy lifestyle among the region's residents. It is being conducted as part of the national project "Sustained and Active Life," which has been implemented in Russia since 2025 at the request of President Vladimir Putin. We remind you that the chief freelance oncologist of the regional health ministry, Sergey Gamayunov, has urged even healthy people to undergo health screenings.
