Nizhny Novgorod residents are invited to celebrate World Health Day in the "Switzerland" park.

      On April 5, 2026, the Nizhny Novgorod region will once again celebrate World Health Day. In anticipation of the holiday, which is celebrated on April 7, useful activities for residents of all ages will be held in the "Switzerland" park in Nizhny Novgorod. Adults will be offered medical examinations and the opportunity to communicate with specialists, while children will participate in an interesting quiz on healthy lifestyles. Mass events will take place as part of the preventive health campaign "YOUR Health Day." The celebration venues will be the Health Lifestyle Center "Planet of Health" (glass pavilion in the "Switzerland" park, nearest public transport stop - "Batumi St."), the parking lot near dormitory No. 2 of PIMU (Gagarin Ave., 68, opposite the park entrance) and the Talent Development Center "Vega" (green pavilion in the "Switzerland" park, nearest public transport stop - "Okeanis" shopping center). Events at the Health Lifestyle Center "Planet of Health" will take place from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM without prior registration. Nizhny Novgorod residents will be offered various medical screenings: measuring their anthropometric data, blood pressure, calculating body mass index, undergoing eye fundus examination and lung function tests, checking cholesterol and glucose levels in the blood, taking blood for a general analysis and an HIV test, as well as oral cavity cancer screening, performing an ECG, and dermatoscopy. Visitors can also expect consultations with a therapist, neurologist, cardiologist, endocrinologist, and dermatologist-venereologist. At the parking lot near the PIMU dormitory, a fluorographic complex and mammograph will be operating at the same time. Additionally, Nizhny Novgorod residents will be able to undergo electrocardiographic examination and receive cardiologist consultations at the "Cardiomobile" complex. Registration for examinations and consultations will begin at 9:30 AM. At the children's center "Vega," an exciting quiz for children on the principles of a healthy lifestyle will start at 11:30 AM. No prior registration is required. Young participants will enjoy an educational program with a growth puppet - the cat "Healthy Lifestyle." The "YOUR Health Day" campaign aims to increase Nizhny Novgorod residents' commitment to a healthy lifestyle, which aligns with the goals and objectives of the national project "Long and Active Life."

      The national project has been implemented in the country since 2025 by order of the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. It aims at the expected increase in life expectancy by 2030 and involves further updating clinics, outpatient clinics, and feldsher-midwife stations, attracting an increasing number of qualified medical personnel to medical institutions, applying new approaches in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic diseases, improving emergency medical care and rehabilitation systems, developing a network of national research centers, and digitizing the industry. The national project includes 11 federal projects: "Health for Everyone," "Modernization of Primary Health Care," "Medical Personnel," "Fighting Cardiovascular Diseases," "Fighting Cancer," "Fighting Diabetes," "Fighting Hepatitis and Minimizing Disease Spread Risks," "Improving Emergency Medical Care," "Developing Federal Medical Organizations, Including the Development of a Network of National Research Centers," "National Platform 'Health'," "Optimal Medical Rehabilitation for Health Recovery."
