A questionable fermented milk drink was discovered in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      April 1, 2026 15:28 Society The Nizhny Novgorod Testing Laboratory of the Animal Health Protection Center conducted an analysis of ryazhenka with a fat content of 2.5% produced in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The study was part of regular food quality monitoring. The examination revealed a deviation in the fatty acid composition of the product, which does not comply with GOST for milk and dairy products. This data was entered into the "VESTA" system and sent to the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Nizhny Novgorod region and the Mari El Republic for appropriate measures to be taken. Laboratory specialists noted that such discrepancies may be caused by the use of low-quality raw materials, violations in the technological process, or the addition of fat substitutes. For consumers, this may affect the taste, smell, and texture of the ryazhenka. It was previously reported that 800 kg of questionable cutlets were found in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
