This procedure precedes the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region, scheduled for September 2026. Among the candidates who submitted documents is a deputy of the regional parliament, chairman of the committee on state power issues of the region, local self-government, and regulations, Vladimir Pakov. He plans to run as part of territorial group No. 19. "The work of a deputy is interesting because you see real changes that benefit the Nizhny Novgorod region. When you witness these changes, you understand: your work is not in vain, and this motivates you to continue. Our task is to make the standard of living in municipalities comparable to that of the regional center, so that young people stay in their native places, developing industry and agriculture. We must raise patriots who will be proud of their homeland," he noted. Citizens of the Russian Federation over 21 years old, registered in the region, can apply to participate in the selection. For participants in the special military operation who took part in the preliminary voting, an additional 25% will be added to the results this year. By May 15, candidates must publish two videos — about themselves and their program. The winners of the preliminary voting will be confirmed as candidates from United Russia in the upcoming elections. The final list will be formed by the party at a conference in June 2026.
