      March 29, 2026 17:34 Politics Former mayor of Nizhny Novgorod Vadim Bulavinov explained why he decided to end his political career. In a conversation with the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Nizhny Novgorod region Rustam Dosaev, he emphasized the importance of timely completion of political activities. As Dosaev shared on social media, the meeting of the politicians took place at one of the gas stations. During the conversation, they managed to discuss work-related matters and also touched on Bulavinov's participation in the upcoming elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The former mayor stated that he feels the need to focus on his personal life and rest. Rustam Dosaev, in turn, expressed deep respect for Bulavinov, calling him a "living legend" of Nizhny Novgorod. "I have great respect for Vadim Evgenyevich, including for the positive changes in our city that he initiated while leading Nizhny Novgorod," the deputy emphasized. Earlier, the current deputy of the State Duma from the region, Vadim Bulavinov, announced that he does not intend to run for office in 2026 — neither at the federal nor at the regional level.
