Nizhny Novgorod residents consider a pension of 53,000 rubles to be worthy.
March 30, 2026 09:00 Society Residents of Nizhny Novgorod consider a worthy pension to be 53,100 rubles per month. This conclusion was reached by SuperJob analysts based on a survey of the economically active population of the city.
Over the year, expectations have grown: in October of last year, Nizhny Novgorod residents mentioned the amount of 47,900 rubles, and in February 2025 — 48,200 rubles.
On average across the country, the perception of a decent pension is 53,500 rubles per month, which is 7% higher than the figures from a study conducted last autumn. At the same time, men traditionally assess the required level of payments higher than women — 54,800 rubles compared to 52,400 rubles.
The highest pension expectations are demonstrated by Russians over 45 years old: they consider a worthy amount to be 56,200 rubles. Respondents aged 35 to 45 mention a level of 55,800 rubles, while youth under 35 are willing to count on 50,800 rubles.
Having higher education also influences expectations. University graduates consider a worthy pension to be 55,800 rubles, while holders of secondary vocational education estimate it at 52,100 rubles.
Additionally, it should be noted that Moscow remains the leader in pension expectations: there, residents would like to receive 57,900 rubles per month. In second place is St. Petersburg (57,600 rubles), and in third place is Khabarovsk (55,400 rubles).
Earlier, specialists named the salary necessary for Nizhny Novgorod residents to achieve a pension of 80,000 rubles.
Let us remind you that starting in April, more than 63,000 residents of Nizhny Novgorod will receive increased pensions.
