      The regional prosecutor's office demands the seizure of a car worth 6.3 million rubles from former Vice Mayor of Nizhny Novgorod Sergey Egorov and its transfer to state revenue. The Nizhny Novgorod District Court initiated a civil case based on the supervisory agency's claim on March 27. The justification for the demands states that the car was purchased in violation of federal laws No. 273-FZ "On Counteracting Corruption" and No. 115-FZ "On Counteracting the Legalization (Laundering) of Income Obtained by Criminal Means and Financing Terrorism." Sergey Egorov was detained on December 2, 2025, after which he left his position. The court chose a preventive measure in the form of house arrest. According to the investigation, from February to September 2025, while performing the duties of the first deputy mayor, he received 120,000 rubles through an intermediary from representatives of a commercial organization and an individual entrepreneur. Law enforcement agencies believe that for this reward, the official was supposed to assist in organizing parking activities on municipal land plots and not take measures to stop illegal operations. Last week it became known that the investigation has been completed. The materials of the criminal case have been submitted to the court.

      Earlier, Egorov's predecessor Ilya Shtokman came under investigation. He is accused of receiving a multimillion-dollar bribe.
