The company noted that the project involves the creation of a two-section line. The lower section will connect the "Zarechnaya" and "Tikhaya Gavan" stations, while the upper section will connect "Tikhaya Gavan" and "Gagarin Avenue." The division of the route is related to the need for the cable car axis to turn. One of the key elements of the future transport system is a galvanized pre-stressed six-strand cable with a diameter of 54 mm, which has increased resistance to stretching. The total weight of the cables for the two sections exceeds 80 tons. Currently, the equipment is placed on a specialized site and is prepared for subsequent installation. The construction of the cable car is being carried out under a concession agreement with the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region for a period of 25 years. The project started in August 2025. The length of the line will reach 3340 meters. It will connect the "Zarechnaya" metro station on Lenin Avenue with the "Switzerland" park on Gagarin Avenue. An intermediate stop will be located on Bauman Street. The main work is planned to be completed by the end of 2026. Investments in the project amount to 5.2 billion rubles. The new cable car will allow travel between the river and hill parts of the city in about 15 minutes instead of 40 minutes via the Molitovsky Bridge. The planned passenger flow will be 10,000 people per day, with a maximum capacity of 30,500 passengers. Recall that in December, the first metal supports for the new cable car were delivered to Nizhny Novgorod. Currently, preparatory work for the construction of the stations is ongoing at all sites.
