Nikitin discussed the development of the urban environment of Arzamas with Shchelokov.

      March 28, 2026 15:47 Society Nizhny Novgorod Governor Gleb Nikitin held a working meeting with the head of Arzamas, Alexander Shchelokov. The results of the meeting were shared by the regional head on his MAX channel.

      The discussion focused on issues related to the development of the urban environment. In particular, the conversation revolved around the reorganization of traffic flows in the historical part of Arzamas — this is necessary for creating a comfortable infrastructure for a tourist city.

      They also discussed the conditions for entrepreneurs willing to open new catering establishments in the city. The possibility of partially subsidizing their expenses is being considered.

      "Many are ready to engage in the transformation of the city and its economy, and therefore have the right to expect certain support measures," noted Gleb Nikitin.

      The meeting also touched upon the implementation of the resettlement program from emergency and dilapidated housing. Currently, a building with 90 apartments is being constructed in Arzamas for its participants. The governor and the mayor discussed what steps would expedite the execution of this program.

      Particular emphasis was placed on supporting participants of the Special Military Operation (SMO) and their families. According to the regional head, "it is important to see specific cases and the fates of people behind the general movement of documents."

      "I instructed Alexander Shchelokov to participate in improving the existing support programs for SMO participants," emphasized Gleb Nikitin.
